Designer and engineer. Spent the last seven years building interfaces; now mostly freelance with small teams. I'm particularly interested in the slow parts of software — defaults, type, transitions — the things that look obvious in retrospect but take time to get right.
Recent projects span product UX for a Series-B fintech, a design system for a small infrastructure team, and a handful of marketing sites. Most engagements run six to twelve weeks. I prefer to ship something narrow and finished over something broad and provisional.
I write occasionally about software, mostly when something I'm building forces me to think harder about it. Recent notes: how to design empty states without lying, why most loading spinners are a tax on attention, and what makes a good default.
Earlier work, mostly from 2018 to 2021 — agency websites, internal tools that never shipped, and one feature I'm still proud of (a keyboard shortcut palette that became the prior art for several others). Available on request.
